Insurance Property Underwriter

This role involves assisting the onshore broking team with client service, including client contact, administration, technical support and business development.

The ideal candidate will assist the onshore broking team with risk management and insurance programs, develop and maintain effective relationships with key client decision makers, gain an understanding of the client's business, risk management and insurance needs, implement renewal and broking strategies, and actively assist the onshore broking teams with the development of additional business from their existing portfolios and with the acquisition of new business.

The successful candidate will have a Graduate degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, meet the training requirements of Tier 1 FSRA Compliance, and prior experience in general insurance or financial lines within a broking or underwriting environment is preferred.

The role requires strong collaboration, initiative, productivity, technology, organization, communication and innovation skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and as part of a virtual team, with a willingness to take on increased responsibilities and act independently with minimal reference back to manager/supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk Management: Assist the onshore broking team with risk management and insurance programs.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain effective relationships with key client decision makers.
  • Business Development: Implement renewal and broking strategies and develop additional business from existing portfolios.
  • Claims Support: Assist the onshore claims team with claim settlements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate Degree: A Graduate degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Compliance: Meet the training requirements of Tier 1 FSRA Compliance.
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience in general insurance or financial lines within a broking or underwriting environment is preferred.
