We are seeking an exceptional Senior Pastry Artisan to join our team at Ferns N Petals. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the pastry department, including recipe development, production, presentation, and staff management.
About the RoleThis is a senior-level position that requires creativity, precision, and leadership skills to maintain high standards of quality and consistency. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success as a Pastry Chef or Executive Pastry Chef in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or catering establishment.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute creative and seasonal dessert menus that align with the culinary concept and meet customer preferences.
- Manage day-to-day pastry operations, including ordering ingredients, inventory management, and budgeting.
- Train, mentor, and supervise pastry staff to ensure adherence to recipes, techniques, and sanitation standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Monitor and control food costs by minimizing waste, optimizing portion sizes, and sourcing ingredients efficiently.
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to continuously enhance pastry offerings and keep the menu innovative.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to coordinate dessert selections with the overall menu and special events.
- Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure consistent taste, texture, and presentation of all pastry items.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among pastry staff.
- Handle special requests and dietary restrictions with flexibility and creativity, ensuring all guests have a memorable dining experience.
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Executive Pastry Chef in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or catering establishment.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification from a recognized culinary institute preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
- Proficiency in recipe development, menu planning, and cost control.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
- Creative flair and passion for experimenting with new ingredients and flavor combinations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
