About the Role

As a key member of our founding team, you will be responsible for leading systems integration across chamber design, precision motion, enclosure development, safety interlocks, and scaling mechanical builds.

This is an exciting opportunity to own the mechanical architecture that makes the instrument fast from sample-load to image. Quiet and reliable on the bench and in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design for Performance: Design mechanical systems for speed, stability, and serviceability: quick specimen exchange, accurate and repeatable motion, clean routing, easy field-replaceable swaps.
  • Develop Assembly and Test Playbook: Develop the assembly and test playbook - fixtures, torque specs, metrology checks - and drive it from prototype to pilot builds.
  • Supplier Qualification and Management: Qualify and scale India-based and global suppliers, partnering closely to improve yield and finish quality.
  • System-Level Integration: Lead system-level integration, balancing optics, electronics, thermal, acoustic, and safety needs.
About You
  • Experience: Delivering precision electromechanical systems - scientific instruments, automation, or similar.
  • Skills: Comfortable with vacuum practice, precision motion, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, design for manufacturability.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Hands-on problem-solver with an eye for ergonomics and field-service.
Success Criteria
  • Fast Sample-to-Image Experience: Fast, reliable sample-to-image experience in the lab and at customer sites.
  • High First-Time-Pass Rate: High first-time-pass on mechanical acceptance checks.
  • Robust Supply Chain: Robust local supply chain for key mechanical parts.

You'll shape architecture and culture as part of the founding team, work hands-on, and ship a tool that moves research and industry forward.
