Job Title:

Linux Support Engineer

Job Description:

This is a challenging role where you will be responsible for providing high-level support for Linux systems in a mission-critical banking environment.

You will work closely with the IT team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including PCI DSS and SWIFT.

As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting complex incidents, managing approved platform changes, and conducting root cause analysis to implement permanent fixes.

Additionally, you will be expected to maintain high availability, performance, and security of the Linux systems, participate in DR/BCP drills, and coordinate vendor TAC cases.

Strong communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be working closely with stakeholders to document issues and provide clear updates on progress.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in Linux system administration, preferably in a financial services environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux distributions, including RHEL, CentOS, Debian GNU, FreeBSD, and Ubuntu.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to create clear, concise documentation.
