Job Summary:

The Cloud Solutions Architect is responsible for defining cloud services to meet the requirements of Emerson's product and development teams. This individual works closely with the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) to create Visio drawings of cloud environments and implements recommended designs. The role requires strong communication skills and a deep understanding of cloud technologies, including Azure and AWS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and evolve technical cloud solutions according to Emerson's enterprise standards.
  • Stay up-to-date on new industry and emerging technologies, particularly in cloud and AI.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement new technologies, including cloud-native solutions.
  • Share cloud best practices and standards with the engineering team.
  • Lead the team in exploring Azure and AWS capabilities and provide recommendations on suitable services.
  • Become a trusted advisor for implementing cloud technologies.
  • Maintain a high degree of technical competency in cloud strategies, infrastructure, and networking, AI/ML, development, and application migration.
  • Experience in architecting, building, maintaining, and operating enterprise-grade systems and applications.
  • Hands-on experience in designing strategies, architecture, and deployment for medium to large-scale identity and access management.
  • Experience with cloud automation tools and techniques, including DevOps, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Jenkins, Ansible, HashiCorp Vault, and Packer.
  • Understanding of databases and cloud security concepts.
  • Enterprise-scale technical experience with Azure AI Services, including Azure OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Search, Azure Machine Learning, and Generative AI.
  • Hands-on experience in creating AI proof of concepts and minimum viable products (MVPs) leading to production deployments.
  • Provide the engineering team with Generative AI expertise and advisory through architecture designs and proof of concept.
  • Programming experience with Python, C#, SQL, and JSON.

Requirements:

  • Twelve plus years of IT engineering experience.
  • Seven or more years of direct working experience on Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Seven or more years of solution architecture experience in cloud engineering.
  • Seven or more years of solution design and implementation experience demonstrating cloud-native technologies.
  • Five plus years of programming skills, including .NET, Python, JSON, NodeJS, and JavaScript.
  • Proven experience with Azure AI Services, including Azure OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Search, Azure Machine Learning, and Generative AI.
  • Proven three plus years of experience in network and security engineering.
  • Ability to build integrations using a REST API and APIM solution on AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar source control and CI/CD platforms.
  • Experience in supporting applications in public cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting IoT solutions preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
  • Experience working in a relevant industry and with manufacturing applications is helpful but not required.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field, such as MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Good interpersonal skills using English, both spoken and written, as will be working with overseas teams.
  • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.
