SCADA Engineer Job Description

Manufacturing operations require a skilled SCADA engineer to lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Ignition SCADA applications.

  • Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of SCADA applications in manufacturing operations.
  • Develop real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions.
  • Ensure seamless integration of OT systems (PLC, SCADA) with enterprise IT systems, databases, and cloud platforms.
  • Implement secure, efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols.
  • Manage industrial databases for high availability and performance.

Key responsibilities include leading the design, configuration, and deployment of SCADA applications, developing real-time data acquisition and visualization solutions, ensuring seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems, and implementing secure data exchange protocols.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in MES functions, production tracking, OEE analysis, and traceability, as well as proficiency in database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and OT/IT integration technologies. Familiarity with manufacturing standards (ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443) and certifications in Ignition, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications is an asset.

This is a contract-to-hire position requiring immediate to 15-day notice period. The work mode is work-from-office. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives, and troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing SCADA deployments.
