The role of Senior Credit Risk Manager involves overseeing and strategizing on end-to-end credit underwriting and monitoring of portfolios through digital journeys. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of risk performance, excellent communication skills, and superior stakeholder management abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

">

  1. Develop and implement underwriting policies to ensure optimal portfolio performance.

  2. Collaborate with the Data Science team to analyze underwriting models, validate their performance, and identify areas for improvement.

  3. Establish performance benchmarks and develop strategies to mitigate risks when they arise.

  4. Automate credit policies to minimize manual intervention in assessing creditworthiness.

  5. Determine the right pricing basis segmentation to optimize portfolio profitability.

  6. Standardize policies and processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.

  7. Track portfolio profitability and funnel metrics, as well as risk thresholds, to inform strategic decisions.

  • Portfolio Analysis:

  • Conduct regular portfolio analysis to recommend policy changes based on outcomes.

  • Perform periodical credit reviews of existing portfolios and conduct various analyses to identify high-risk segments.

  • Take action to mitigate identified risks based on portfolio performance.

  • Monitor delinquent accounts to ensure achievement of company standards or benchmark delinquency rates.

  • Identify technological solutions to improve existing processes and overall portfolio management functions.

  • Analyze various Management Information Systems (MIS) to monitor portfolio performance and risk.

    • Partner Integration:

    • Understand products offered by new channel partners and the segments being catered to.

    • Identify information available with channel partners and requisition necessary data at application time.

    • Create policies based on product, available information, and prevailing models.

    • Facilitate data room exercises for new customer segments.

    • Formulate policies considering expected loss rates.

    • Monitor policy implementation, UAT, and production test runs, clearing bottlenecks as needed.

      • Relationship Management:

      • Manage relationships with partners, credit reporting agencies, and assist in all credit operations.

        • Qualifications:

        • Minimum Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Finance, Statistics, or Management from reputable institutions.

        • Preferred Qualifications: BTech with MBA.

          • Work Experience:

          • Minimum 7 years experience, with 3-4 years in risk management and policy creation.

          • Fair understanding of risk performance required.

          • Superior stakeholder management skills to work closely with internal functions like Business Development, Credit and Policy, Data Science, Legal, Technology, Operations, Collections, Customer Success teams, and external stakeholders.

          • Hands-on experience working with large structured and unstructured datasets using different data processing and statistical tools is mandatory.

          • Proficient in Data Analytics, Model Validation, Policy Formulation, Portfolio Management, Stakeholder Management, Project Management, and technical skills such as R/Python, SQL, Advanced Excel.
