Senior Sql Database Administrator Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sql Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the performance, security, and scalability of our SQL databases.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot SQL 2005 – SQL 2022 databases.
  • Patch hierarchy and clarify SQL Build numbers and Internal Database build numbers.
  • Upgrade/Migrate SQL Server from older (SQL 2005) to newer (SQL 2022) versions.
  • Configure Linked Servers between same/different SQL Server versions.
  • Set up contained databases and utilize them for effective migrations.
  • Configure recovery models and design backup strategies.
  • Fine-tune backups using Backup Encryption, Compression, and special parameters.
  • Handle Master, Model, MSDB, TEMPDB, and Resource database corruptions.
  • Configure HADR like Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering, Always-On AG & Replication.
  • Knowledge of Windows Cluster, Quorum, Dynamic Quorum, Voting Mechanism, Failovers through Cluster Administrator and commands.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge on SQL Server Architecture, parameters, T-SQL, Triggers, and Procedures.
  • Administration and configuration of HA/DR solutions - Clustering, Always-ON Group, etc.
  • Configuration and management of all types of Replications and troubleshooting.
  • Patch management.
  • Always On AG scenarios – Failover.
  • Server capacity monitoring, analysis, and tuning activities.
  • Automation using scripts and tools in the area of Backup, Monitoring, Resource Utilization, HA alerts, capacity plan management.
  • SQL Server Tuning.
