About the Role

State Street seeks an experienced Asset Fund Accountant to join our team. As an Asset Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining client books and posting journal entries, preparing and presenting financial statements.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Post journal entries and maintain client books at the asset, investment, and portfolio levels.
  • Prepare financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Reconcile cash accounts with bank statements on a daily basis.
  • Coordinate the processing of payments and other transactions.
  • Review and update fixed asset schedules and accumulated depreciation.
  • Track property review accounting, including net assets, operating income, depreciation, and rent calculations.
  • Prepare deferred revenue cost schedules and accounting entries.
  • Prepare equity capital, subscription, and redemption schedules.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide comments.
  • Account for asset revaluations and prepare schedules.
  • Assist with audit queries and maintain various entity books of accounts.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in accounting for the financial services sector, particularly Private Equity, Asset Management, or Fund Administration.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and/or USGAAP.
  • Experience with preparing general ledger and financial statements.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Investran/Oracle is an added advantage.
  • Private equity/real estate fund experience, including exposure to complex fund structures, waterfall computations, and preferred returns.
