Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Chief Vulnerability Management Specialist. This individual will play a key role in collaborating with development teams, business teams, and cross-functional technology to identify and remediate web application vulnerabilities.

  • This specialist must be able to work closely with the Cybersecurity Team, which is a highly technical and metrics-driven team focused on process optimization and automation to improve effectiveness.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Remediation of web application vulnerabilities to ensure the security and integrity of our systems.
  • Onboarding new web applications into our web-app vuln scan platform, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • Maintaining the Vulnerability Management tools and infrastructures daily, guaranteeing their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Scanning web applications and understanding the results to remediate any findings, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Scanning servers, protocols, middleware, and networks for vulnerabilities on a regular basis, staying up-to-date with the latest threats.
  • Collaborating with developer and application owners to remediate vulnerabilities and reduce risk, fostering a culture of security awareness.
  • Recording vulnerability exceptions and escalating priority vulnerabilities that aren't remediated in a timely fashion, prioritizing the most critical issues.
  • Supporting periodic web application penetration testing efforts, ensuring our defenses are robust and effective.
  • Conducting meetings and security reviews with business personnel to articulate vulnerabilities and their risk to the company, providing actionable insights.
  • Providing monthly metrics of the Vulnerability Management Program, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent cybersecurity experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in IT security principles.
  • Experienced Cybersecurity Engineer with strong Vulnerability Management expertise, possessing a deep understanding of web application vulnerability scanning and remediation.
  • At least 2 years of experience in web application vulnerability discovery, remediation, and scanning, using web application vulnerability scanning tools, such as DAST and SAST.
  • Experience with maintaining and maturing a Vulnerability Management Program, driving continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with Rapid7 InsightAppSec (IAS) or equivalent, leveraging advanced security tools to drive vulnerability management excellence.
