  • We focus on ensuring that marginalized primary school-aged girls acquire foundational literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning outcomes.

About the Role:

The Program Officer will take ownership of our Primary Foundational Learning strategy in India. This involves developing an India-specific strategy, administering existing grants, and identifying new grantees aligned with our strategy.

This role requires strong networks in India, technical expertise in Primary Foundational Learning, and experience or expertise in philanthropy. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in positions demanding independent decision-making.

  • This includes developing and executing grantmaking strategies, as well as engaging with colleagues working in the same region on different thematic focus areas and representing us in key settings to support our strategy and goals.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in positions demanding independent decision-making.
  • They will have knowledge and expertise in Primary Foundational Learning, with a commitment to gender equity in education.
  • Experience or expertise in gender transformative education programming, leadership, and organizational development is also required.
  • A strong understanding of and networks in the philanthropic sector is essential.
