Job Title: AS400/RPG Lead Developer

This role involves leading the development of business-critical applications on the IBM i / AS/400 platform, utilizing RPG IV, CLLE, ILE concepts and DB2/400 database management system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement solutions for complex business problems on the IBM i / AS/400 platform.
  • Design and implement data models, database tables, and SQL queries to optimize data access and performance.
  • Maintain and improve existing applications, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to industry standards.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues, including debugging and error analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, applying knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
  • At least 12 years of experience on the IBM i / AS/400 platform.
  • Strong understanding of business workflows in the supply chain or retail domain.
  • Familiarity with API development on IBM i using Open Access or web services.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
