Senior Software Reliability Engineer

We are looking for a skilled engineer to lead the development of high-performance, scalable, and reliable services. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring that our customer's business operations run smoothly and efficiently.

In this position, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining internal platforms using the latest technologies such as Kubernetes and Java. You will also work closely with product engineering teams to debug production outages and implement action items to improve reliability.

As a DevOps expert, you will promote protocols on production readiness and operational excellence while driving automated testing, continuous integration, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, build, harden, and maintain key parts of our internal platform from CI/CD to developer tools aimed at increasing R&D productivity.

2. Help migrate to industry-leading CICD tools like GitHub Actions.

3. Automate safe deployment practices by utilizing industry-leading tools like GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, Helm Charts, etc.

4. Automate infrastructure provisioning and other engineering processes by working on automations built on top of an engineering platform written in GitHub Actions.

5. Coach and up-skill other engineering team members.

6. Solve challenging technical problems and put your skills to the test every day, seeing an immediate impact of your work and value created for other engineers.

7. Automate every aspect of our infrastructure to remove as much human intervention as possible.

8. Develop effective tooling, alerts, and responses to both identify and address reliability risks.

9. Drive and promote protocols on production readiness and operational excellence.

10. Partner with product engineering teams to debug production outages and carry out action items to improve reliability of those systems.

11. Advocate for automated testing, continuous integration, and delivery, feature toggles, and progressive rollouts.

12. Plan for growth of Company infrastructure.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. 5- 8 years of experience.

2. Understanding large-scale complex systems from a reliability perspective.

3. Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD processes and tools.

4. Passion for producing clean, standards-compliant, secure code.

5. Bringing a developer mindset and applying it to infrastructure.

6. Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.

7. Experience with Kubernetes.

8. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.

9. Experience building software with a programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Scala, or any other JVM-based languages.

10. Experience writing scripts for automating the execution of certain tasks with a programming language like Ruby, Python, Bash, or any other scripting language.

11. Experience with at least one relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch).

12. Ability to identify time-consuming and error-prone manual tasks and then build/leverage tooling to automate them.

13. Ability to identify root causes of instability in a large-scale distributed system across stacks.

Experience with cloud-based solutions, CI/CD platforms, containers, artifact management tools, and Go programming language is a plus.
