Data Mining Engineer

As a seasoned Data Mining Engineer, you will have the opportunity to develop and optimize data-driven products and services for various industries. You will work with global teams of technology innovators and entrepreneurs who possess deep experience in clinical research, medical product safety, and public health surveillance.

We collaborate with regulators, major pharmaceutical companies, and academia to design and implement cutting-edge analytical solutions that enhance drug, vaccine, and device safety monitoring and public health surveillance.

Job Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data models, as well as optimizing data access and performance.
  • Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including conceptualization, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical product data models and assist in process and performance optimization for data access.
  • Tune databases and help guide and mentor less experienced software developers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • AWS, SQL, Python, Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, Linux/Ubuntu.
  • Extensive professional experience in data product development, including design, development, documentation, and maintenance across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in designing and implementing data products and creating secure data solutions, including avoidance and mitigation patterns for relevant current and previous OWASP top-10.
  • Demonstrable experience in data modeling and tuning SQL query performance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Life Sciences and/or Pharmacovigilance related data sets and standards, e.g. E2B R2/R3, MedDRA, IDMP.
  • Developing healthcare or life sciences data products for regulated environments.
  • Developing using AWS, and associated proprietary AWS services, e.g. S3, RDS, DMS.
