Nest Cutting Specialist

Job Summary:
- Create optimized cutting layouts for CNC machines, laser cutters and oxy-fuel machines to minimize material waste while ensuring accurate cuts.
- Interpret technical drawings, CAD files, DXF and DWG for efficient nesting.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize nesting programs using software like SigmaNEST or Lantek.
- Prepare cutting plans and CNC programming for production.
- Verify and review nesting files before releasing them to the production floor.
- Coordinate with design and production teams to meet fabrication schedules.
- Maintain nesting databases and track material utilization.
- Troubleshoot cutting or nesting issues and suggest improvements.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field such as Materials Science.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC nesting programming in steel fabrication environments.
- Good knowledge of Nesting Software, Auto Cad and MS Office applications.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal plate cutting processes, material types and thicknesses.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical documents.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Good communication and team collaboration skills.
