Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Data Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining large-scale data processing systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires a strong understanding of cloud-based technologies and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have experience with GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Terraform and Cloud Run. They will also be proficient in programming languages such as Python and SQL. In addition, they should have excellent communication skills and be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and maintain large-scale data processing systems on GCP.
  • Develop and deploy ETL processes using Dataflow and BigQuery.
  • Monitor and optimize data processing and storage resources on GCP.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Document data engineering processes and best practices.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • 2+ years experience with creating and managing SSIS and writing TSQL (views/functions/stored procedures).
  • 3+ years experience working on GCP environment and its relevant tools/services.
  • 1 or 2+ years of strong experience in Python development (Object oriented/Functional Programming, Pandas, Pyspark etc)
  • Good knowledge of data modeling and working with star schema.
  • Experience with major RDBMS systems like MS-SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Teradata etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or other technical field is highly preferred.
