Job Title: Data Engineer (GCP)

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This is a long-term contract opportunity for a remote/offshore (India) resource who can work US hours.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining data acquisition pipelines for large volumes of structured and unstructured data. This includes batch and real-time processing in GCP.

The role requires the ability to build large and complex datasets based on business requirements, construct 'big data' pipeline architecture, and identify opportunities for data acquisition via working with stakeholders and business clients.

The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of tools in the GCP Ecosystem such as Python, Data Flow, DataStream, CDC (Change Data Capture), Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and leverage DevOps and CI/CD practices (GitHub, Terraform) to ensure the reliability and scalability of data pipelines.

Apart from technical skills, the role also requires strong communication and pre-screening skills.

The job requires

  • a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a data engineering role – with core GCP experience of 3-4 years.
  • Work time will be in CST, until 2 am IST on most days
  • 1-2 times in a month, the resource might be needed to stretch their work hours by 1-2 hours
