We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Specialist to join our team in ensuring the smooth operation of complex computer systems.

As an Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of IBMi (AS/400) systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of critical business applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of IBMi (AS/400) systems
  • Monitor system health, schedule jobs, perform backups, troubleshoot, and provide user support
  • Utilize tools like Robot, Advanced, and Native schedulers to create, manage, and monitor scheduled jobs
  • Troubleshoot and restart failed jobs, ensuring successful completion
  • Monitor batch process, automate job streams, and provide daily operational support
  • Maintain system and device health for high volume printers and tape drives
  • Perform and manage backups
  • Analyze logs and conduct root cause analysis of recurring problems
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in IBMi/AS400 Operations
  • In-depth knowledge of IBMi (AS/400) systems, including system architecture, LPAR (Logical Partitioning), and OS versions
  • Ability to work in 24/7 rotational shifts
  • Troubleshooting and technical experience related to IBM i
  • Experience with IPLs and disaster recovery planning and execution
  • Expertise in handing transitions
  • Ability to run jobs from established run sheets and maintain those run sheets
  • Knowledge of basic trouble shooting of Mimix, Power HA, iTera, and backup and recovery tools
