Vulnerability Management Professional

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Vulnerability Management Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in vulnerability management, including analysis of scan results, prioritization efforts, and remediation tracking.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze Vulnerability Scan Results: Assist with analyzing vulnerability scan results from tools such as Tenable, Qualys, or Rapid7 to identify potential security risks.
  • Prioritize Vulnerabilities: Support prioritization efforts using CVSS scores, KEV (Known Exploited Vulnerabilities), EPSS (Exploit Prediction Scoring System), and asset criticality to ensure the most critical vulnerabilities are addressed first.
  • Remediation Tracking: Collaborate with IT and security teams to track remediation status and escalate high-risk findings to prevent security breaches.
  • Threat Intelligence: Monitor public threat intelligence sources to understand the context of vulnerabilities and stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Dashboards and Reports: Contribute to the development of dashboards and reports for tracking vulnerabilities and trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Process Documentation: Assist in documenting vulnerability management processes and remediation workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Compliance and Audit: Support compliance and audit requests by providing vulnerability data as needed to maintain regulatory compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 0-3 Years Experience: Bachelor's degree and 0-3 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT operations with exposure to vulnerability or security tools.
  • Diploma and 4-7 Years Experience: Diploma and 4-7 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT operations with exposure to vulnerability or security tools.
  • Must-Have Skills:
    • Vulnerability Management Platforms: Basic familiarity with vulnerability management platforms such as Tenable, Qualys, or Rapid7.
    • CVSS Scoring: Understanding of basic CVSS scoring and vulnerability classification.
    • Cybersecurity Concepts: Awareness of cybersecurity concepts such as threat intelligence, patching, and risk assessment.
    • Networking and IT Systems: Foundational knowledge of networking and common IT systems.
    • Continuous Learning: Willingness to learn and grow in the field of vulnerability management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • KEV, EPSS, or Similar Frameworks: Exposure to KEV, EPSS, or similar threat-based scoring frameworks.
  • Scripting Languages: Basic experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Cloud Security Tools: Awareness of cloud security tools such as AWS Inspector or Azure Defender.
  • Compliance Standards: Familiarity with compliance standards such as NIST, ISO, or PCI-DSS.

  • Analytical Thinking: Comfortable working with data and identifying patterns.
  • Attention to Detail: Careful review and tracking of vulnerabilities.
