Job Opportunity

The ideal candidate will ensure a secure, reliable, and high-performing messaging infrastructure that supports enterprise applications and batch processes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM MQ Series and MQ FTE on z/OS platforms.
  • Management of MQ objects including queue managers, queues, channels, and cluster configurations for optimal performance.
  • Performance monitoring and availability checks, with application of tuning techniques to optimize throughput and reduce latency.
  • Planning and execution of upgrades for MQ Series and FTE components on z/OS systems.
  • Conducting compatibility checks, regression testing, and rollback planning to ensure seamless system operation.
  • Collaboration with application and infrastructure teams to minimize disruption during upgrades.
  • Implementation and management of MQ security protocols, including TLS/SSH certificates, RACF integration, and security exits.
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational and industry standards for secure messaging environments.
  • Supporting integration of MQ with z/OS subsystems, including CICS, DB2, and IMS.
  • Development and maintenance of automation scripts using REXX, JCL, or Assembler for MQ operations.
  • Design and implementation of MQ Queue Sharing Groups and RESLEVEL configurations for high availability.
  • Contributing to disaster recovery planning, testing, and failover strategies for MQ environments.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with IBM MQ on z/OS.
  • Deep understanding of MQ Queue Sharing Groups, FTE configurations, and MQ monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency in COBOL, REXX, JCL, and related language tools.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in hybrid team environments.
