As a seasoned Database Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of highly scalable and available database solutions using Azure Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL. This is an exceptional opportunity to drive technical innovation and excellence in our team.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for developing and evangelizing best practices for data modeling, sharding, and partitioning strategies to optimize for both transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) workloads.
  • Your expertise in advanced performance optimization techniques will help us conduct in-depth performance analysis and tuning of complex SQL queries, database configurations, and distributed table structures.
  • You will design, implement, and test robust high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for production clusters, ensuring business continuity and meeting strict RTO/RPO objectives.
  • As a mentor, you will guide junior team members on advanced query optimization techniques and distributed database principles, promoting knowledge sharing and growth within the team.
  • You will also develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts to automate the provisioning, scaling, and management of database clusters.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong experience with Azure Cosmos DB for PostgreSQL and its ecosystem.
  • Advanced skills in database architecture, performance optimization, and HA/DR strategies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Able to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Terraform, ARM templates, and other IaC tools.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, as well as containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Good understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Ability to work in agile/scrum environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Certification(s) such as Azure Certified Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Admin.
  • Experience working with AI/ML services and implementing machine learning models in production environments.
