Job Title: Director of Sports

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the planning, development, and implementation of sports programs, physical education, and wellness initiatives across our institution.

  • We are seeking a visionary leader with a proven track record in sports administration, coaching, or sports management.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of experience in managing large-scale sports events and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement overall vision, strategy, and policies for sports department.
  2. Oversee sports programs, inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps, and physical education curriculum.
  3. Manage sports facilities, gymnasiums, and grounds, ensuring proper maintenance and utilization.
  4. Identify, recruit, and mentor talented athletes to represent us at various levels.
  5. Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and faculty to promote a culture of fitness and sportsmanship.
  6. Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on health, fitness, and sports.
  7. Supervise and evaluate performance of sports coaches and staff.
  8. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote ethical sports practices.
  9. Formulate and implement sports and physical education policies as per UGC/AIU norms.
  10. Identify and groom talented sportspersons to represent us at zonal, national, and international levels.
  11. Liaise with sports councils, federations, and UGC-recognized bodies for collaboration and participation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in sports administration, coaching, or sports management.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale sports events and teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of modern training methods, sports technology, and performance analytics.
  • Record of having represented university/college at inter-university / inter-collegiate competitions or State and/or National championships.
  • Knowledge of UGC, AIU, and national sports policies.
