Design Engineer for Automotive Closure Systems

We seek an experienced Design Engineer to develop innovative closure mechanisms for the automotive industry. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and implementing vehicle closure systems, including latches, window regulators, check straps, outer door handles, locks, and their related kinematics.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize CAD software (typically CATIA) to design and develop vehicle closure mechanisms that meet industry standards for robust function, manufacturability, safety, and durability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, studio design, quality, and customer experience to ensure seamless product development.
  • Evaluate, test, and validate designs through simulation and physical prototypes to optimize performance and functionality.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of components from concept to production, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related fields.
  • 4 to 8 years experience in designing automotive closure systems (latches, regulators, handles, etc.).
  • Expertise in CAD (e.g., CATIA V5/SolidWorks) and detailed engineering analysis.
  • Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, validation, and simulation tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
