Job Title: Software Engineering Leadership Role

This leadership position focuses on guiding and overseeing the development of high-performance web applications.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage software design, development, deployment, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Advocate for sound software engineering practices and recommend best frameworks and design patterns.
  • Lead technical discussions to mitigate any potential impact.
  • Evaluate software applications and architectures to drive their evolution as needed.
  • Review team work to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Ensure applications meet non-functional requirements (security, scalability, resiliency, accessibility, and performance).
  • Provide leadership and support to coach, motivate, and manage high-performing teams.
  • Guide employees in setting goals, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Encourage training and upskilling of team members to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
  • Improve software development processes through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate development projects and production issues.
  • Work with Product and Program Managers to influence product roadmaps and project plans.
  • Report team status to stakeholders and seek feedback for improvement.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and 10+ years of relevant software development experience.

Additionally, they should have 3+ years of management/leadership experience in a global software development organization, hands-on experience in software design, development, and release cycles, and proficiency in Java programming experience.

They should also be familiar with object-oriented design, databases (relational/no-SQL), queuing technologies (Rabbit MQ/Kafka), and cloud computing platforms (AWS/Azure).

Furthermore, the candidate should possess strong leadership, project management, time-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence technical discussions and build a technical vision.

They should also be able to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, have a proven track record of forming, mentoring, and growing strong engineering teams, and be articulate, organized, detail-oriented, result-oriented, and able to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
