Search Solutions Developer

We are seeking a seasoned Search/Information Retrieval professional to craft innovative search solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences.

The ideal candidate will combine robust software engineering skills with deep knowledge of information retrieval systems, embracing modern technologies like Elasticsearch and Solr.

  • Design and implement advanced search functionality using cutting-edge search platforms
  • Develop high-quality, scalable search applications focusing on relevancy, performance, and user experience
  • Create and optimize search algorithms, ranking models, and retrieval methods
  • Build Knowledge Graphs from corporate data sources, leveraging expertise in graph databases
  • Implement and fine-tune query understanding, text analysis, and relevance scoring, driving accurate results
  • Analyze and maintain existing search infrastructure and applications, ensuring seamless performance
  • Design and execute A/B tests to measure search quality improvements, utilizing data-driven insights
  • Develop efficient indexing strategies and data preparation pipelines, streamlining the development process
  • Implement machine learning models for search ranking, elevating search results to new heights

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering and search solutions
  • 3+ years of experience developing search applications and solutions
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with search engines (Elasticsearch, Solr, or similar)
  • Deep understanding of information retrieval concepts (TF-IDF, BM25, vector search)
  • Expertise in SQL databases and experience with NoSQL solutions, leveraging graph databases when necessary
  • Experience with text processing, NLP, and relevance tuning, driving accurate results

Preferred Skills:

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Knowledge of modern neural search techniques and vector embeddings, enhancing search capabilities
  • Experience with Knowledge Graphs/Graph RAG and related infrastructure (Neo4J etc), building upon expertise in graph databases
  • Familiarity with relevance evaluation metrics (NDCG, MRR, MAP), driving data-driven decisions
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems, handling complex search workloads

Technical Requirements:

  • Search Engines: Elasticsearch, Solr, or similar
  • Programming Languages: Java, Python, Scala
  • Databases: SQL, MongoDB, or similar
