Job Title: Deputy Manager, Quality

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager, Quality to join our team at ZF Wind Power in Coimbatore, India.

Job Summary:

The Deputy Manager, Quality will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our gear units used in wind turbines. This includes ensuring that our products meet the required standards, identifying and addressing quality issues, and implementing corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure quality goals are met and product performance is enhanced
  • Handle castings, gear CMM, measuring instruments, new project quality assurance, and quality control
  • Lead a quality team to ensure inspection standards are adhered to
  • Coordinate with production, design, maintenance, and other functions for problem-solving and driving CAPA
  • Ensure compliance with ISO and other quality standards
  • Use quality tools to drive continuous improvement projects
  • Update non-compliances in SAP by raising notifications
  • Monitor CTQ and update results to cross-functional teams
  • Ensure change management process is adhered to with proper communication
  • Handle nonconformances with clear disposition and quick decision-making
  • Optimize quality costs and work towards reducing them
  • Support new product development teams in APQP and PPAP documentations
  • Conduct customer interface studies, risk assessments, and lesson-learned summaries during initial product development
  • Understand deviations, coordinate with front-line support teams, and handle deviations effectively
  • Collect data for CAPA and use 8D to address customer grievances
  • Conduct workplace safety studies using SRS and SIS, focusing on prevention
  • Coordinate internal, external, and third-party audits and ensure audit completeness with corrective actions and closure of audit points
  • Handle special processes such as NDT, heat treatment, vibration monitoring, and analysis
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience
  • Working experience or certification in SAP and MES
  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft Power BI, report making, and data analysis
  • Hands-on experience in Minitab statistical software and process capability reports
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in vibration analysis (CAT II certification is a plus)
  • Process and product knowledge of gearbox assembly, testing, and end assembly
  • Knowledge of measuring instruments and equipment
  • Knowledge of FARO portable CMM, endoscope machines
  • Knowledge of ISO, ISO, OHSAS (WI, HIRA, SRS, SIS, EMP, etc.)
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Statistical Process Control, Root Cause Analysis, 8D)
