We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as a Costing Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing cost estimates for manufacturing operations, assisting in budget planning, cost control, and profitability analysis. This role requires collaboration with engineering, production, procurement, and finance departments to ensure accurate costing and process efficiency.
About the Role:
The Costing Specialist will be responsible for:
• Preparing and maintaining standard costing for all products and processes;
• Analyzing material, labor, and overhead costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities;
• Developing and maintaining the costing model for all products, including BOMs (Bill of Materials) and routings;
• Collaborating with engineering and production teams to assess design changes and their impact on cost;
• Performing variance analysis (standard vs actual cost) and recommending corrective actions;
• Supporting the new product development (NPD) process by providing cost inputs at the design and prototyping stages;
• Evaluating supplier quotations and comparing with internal cost benchmarks;
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management;
• Assisting in inventory valuation, cost audits, and financial planning activities;
• Monitoring manufacturing efficiency and helping identify opportunities for process optimization.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering, or related field;
• 2–5 years of experience in cost engineering or cost analysis in a manufacturing setup;
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs, and ERP systems;
• Proficient in MS Excel, costing software, and data analysis tools;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities;
• Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
