Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the engineering department, you will be responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and reviewing electrical work within a discipline on a project or assignment.

You will supervise the day-to-day technical work of discipline engineers, specialists, designers, and drafters, conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports, and prepare or oversee the preparation of discipline estimates and work plans.

In addition, you will estimate staffing needs and schedules, assign work to meet schedule dates, coordinate with client representatives, review and approve key engineering drawings and calculations, and ensure that engineers supervised receive appropriate on-the-job training.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical system studies using ETAP/EasyPower software and conversant with short circuit, load flow, motor starting & voltage drop calculations, main single line diagram, protection & metering diagrams, relay setting & protection coordination of the system.
  • Possess good knowledge of international codes & standards.
  • Ability to design, engineer, and interface building power management systems including controlling and monitoring of building's mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Review of 3D model in S3D and Autodesk Revit using SPR or Navisworks and be a stakeholder in 30%, 50% and 90% Model Reviews with Client, Vendor, and Sub Contractors.
  • Vendor Prints Review of Mechanical packages.
  • Preparation of three Line Diagrams & Logic Diagrams for Generator, Generator Step-up Transformer, Unit Auxiliary Transformer, Generator Circuit Breaker, Switchyard, Overall Single Line Diagrams.
  • Conversant with electrical layouts like raceways, lighting, grounding & lightning protection, Switchyard layouts etc.
  • Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods.
  • Knowledge of inter-discipline coordination.
  • Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved.
  • Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria.
  • Skill in oral and written communication, demonstrated skill in leadership.
