We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Leader to join our IT team.

Job Description

The Senior Executive will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our technology infrastructure and services. This position involves a blend of hands-on technical support, system administration, and project coordination.

The successful candidate will contribute to the strategic implementation and maintenance of IT solutions that support our academic, administrative, and research needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily IT operations, including network availability, server performance, and system uptime.
• Provide advanced technical support for hardware and software issues.
• Implement and manage software deployment, updates, and patching across our systems.

Network & Infrastructure Management:

The Senior Executive will assist in the administration and maintenance of our wired and wireless networks. They will monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure network security.

They will also manage and maintain server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.

Software & System Administration:

The Senior Executive will administer and support key university applications, including Learning Management Systems, Enterprise Resource Planning systems, Student Information Systems, and other academic/administrative software.

They will also manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various platforms.

Cybersecurity & Data Protection:

The Senior Executive will implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect our data and systems from threats.

They will promote cybersecurity awareness among our users.

Project Management & Coordination:

The Senior Executive will lead or assist in the planning, execution, and completion of IT projects, such as system upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and new technology rollouts.

They will coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure project milestones are met.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Requirements:

• A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT support, system administration, or network management.
• Proven experience working in a university or educational environment is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in administering Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy).
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, Firewalls, Routers, Switches).
• Experience with Firewall, Endpoint Protection System (EPS), and Intune Mobile Device Management (MDM) administration.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere , Microsoft Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Hands-on experience with database management (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
• Experience with IT security best practices, antivirus solutions, and data backup strategies.

Desirable Skills:

• Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with specific experience in any Education ERP or CAMU ERP being an extra benefit.
• Experience with Google Apps (Workspace) administration and Office 365 administration, including Microsoft Exchange Online administration.
• Knowledge and experience with CCTV and Access Control systems.
• Experience with Meraki Wi-Fi administration.
• Familiarity with CRM administration.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

Professional Certifications:

• Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Experience with ITIL framework or other IT service management methodologies.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
