Job Description

The primary role of the System Operations Specialist is to ensure the smooth operation of mission-critical financial systems within an investment banking environment. This position requires a highly skilled engineer who can guarantee system resilience, reliability, and operational excellence across On-Premise and cloud-hosted environments.

Responsibilities include owning assigned financial systems, ensuring high availability, troubleshooting complex issues, and conducting root cause analysis. Additionally, this role involves designing and managing disaster recovery strategies, conducting periodic drills, and ensuring timely patching and compliance with security standards.

A strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles is required, as well as experience with automation tools such as Python, Shell, and Ansible. The ideal candidate will be able to apply these skills to improve system performance and resilience, automate operational tasks, and develop tooling and scripts for efficiency and reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience in platform engineering within financial services or capital markets.
  • Strong SRE experience focused on automation, observability, and resilience.
  • Expertise in Linux/Windows environments.
  • Hands-on experience with key AWS services (EC2, ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, VPC).
  • Strong automation and scripting skills (Python, Shell, Ansible, Terraform preferred).
  • Proficiency in monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.).
