Business Intelligence Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Specialist to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for managing master data sets, developing reports, and troubleshooting data issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the creation, update, and deletion of master data.
  • Administer user access and roles.
  • Ensure the quality of imported data through thorough checks and collaborate with quality assurance analysts if needed.
  • Implement and decommission data sets according to requirements.
  • Process confidential data securely, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development of reports and analyses.
  • Design and manage the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
  • Support the data warehouse in identifying and addressing reporting requirements.
  • Promote initiatives for data integrity and normalization.
  • Evaluate new software and systems, providing recommendations for strategic decisions.
  • Generate reports from single or multiple systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues within the reporting database environment and reports.
  • Analyze changes and updates to source production systems.
  • Provide training to end-users on new reports and dashboards.
  • Offer technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
Requirements

Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in computer science from an accredited institution is required. Experience as a Business Intelligence Specialist or in a related field is also essential.

Key Skills: Ability to work effectively with stakeholders to identify potential risks, capacity to analyze existing tools and databases, recommending software solutions. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with high-level understanding of methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases.

Additional Information: Familiarity with addressing and metadata standards is highly desirable. The ability to handle large data sets and relational databases is also crucial for this role.
