Job Title: Design Engineering Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineering Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering services to large and small projects, working in an integrated 3D environment and producing design calculations, reports, specifications, evaluation reports, technical recommendations and, 3D models and 2D drawings as per project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, quality, cost and schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with the project engineer to produce and maintain technical and engineering deliverables using 2D and 3D engineering software.
  • Facilitate the sharing of technical expertise across projects including archival of project documents.
  • Provide training for resources assigned to the project and support technology development and automation works as required.
  • Perform conceptual layout work and develop design details, prepare / extract drawings and check the deliverables prior to release.
  • Ensure coordination with engineers within the discipline and with other disciplines.
  • Co-ordinate and review clash detection in an integrated model with other discipline engineers and resolve issues if any.
  • Participate in formal engineering review processes and review vendor drawings and documents including archival and inputs to other disciplines.
  • Represent the discipline during site visits and client meetings as felt necessary by PE/PM.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1-4 years of experience in a relevant design discipline.
  • Experience in engineering packages and a postgraduate or graduate degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply specialized and/or advanced engineering principles at conceptual and detailed level.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
