About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Debt Advisory Specialist to join our team at Sustainability Economics in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic advice on financing options, debt structuring, refinancing, and debt capital market opportunities. This role is critical in helping clients raise debt to fund their operations, expansion plans, and acquisitions.

You will work with a diverse group of clients, from large corporations to private equity firms, and coordinate across internal teams to deliver high-quality, customised financial solutions. The position requires an investment banker with in-depth knowledge of Fixed income instruments including bonds, loans, securitisation, debentures, mezzanine finance instruments.

A strong understanding of credit rating mechanisms and credit enhancement strategies is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the structuring and execution of debt transactions, including public bond offerings, private placements, leveraged buyouts (LBOs), recapitalisations, and restructurings.
  • Oversee the creation and review of financial models, scenario analyses, and transaction structures to optimise deal terms.
  • Cordinate the due diligence, negotiation, and documentation processes with internal and external stakeholders, including legal teams, credit analysts, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with other divisions (Equity Advisory, M&A, Research, Legal, and Compliance) to deliver integrated solutions to clients.
  • Understand various fixed income instruments and assess the key parameters like yield, duration, credit risk, and market conditions.
  • Identify and analyse the potential risks associated with specific instruments issuance.
  • Evaluate and interpret credit ratings from major agencies, understanding their impact on investment decisions, analysing the impact of changes in credit ratings on portfolios.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree relevant to Finance, Business, and Economics. A minimum of 4 years of experience in fixed income instruments analysis and credit rating agencies is required.

Candidates with climate-specific financial instruments knowledge will be given preference.

Essential Skills:

  • Deep understanding of debt instruments, including bonds, loans, mezzanine financing, and high-yield debt.
  • Understanding of credit risk modelling and expertise in credit risk assessment, including the ability to analyse financial statements and evaluate credit worthiness of companies.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit enhancement mechanisms and the processes to execute them end-to-end.
