Job Overview:

The Food Quality Assurance Director oversees all quality assurance and control processes to ensure food products meet regulatory standards, customer expectations, and safety requirements. This role ensures the highest quality of products from raw materials to finished goods while driving continuous improvement in production and safety processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance Leadership:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive quality control systems, policies, and procedures to guarantee compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., FSSAI, FDA, HACCP) and internal quality standards.
    • Lead regular audits, inspections, and testing processes across all production stages to maintain product quality and safety.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Monitor and evaluate the production process to ensure consistency and safety, making improvements as needed.
    • Establish protocols for raw material inspection, in-process control, and finished product testing to maintain high product quality.
    • Address any quality deviations or non-conformities promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Compliance & Certification:
    • Maintain certifications and compliance with industry standards (ISO, BRC, etc.) to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
    • Document all quality control processes and procedures for internal and external audits.
    • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections.
  • Team Development:
    • Manage and mentor the quality control team, ensuring proper resource allocation and professional development.
    • Foster a culture of quality and safety throughout the organization.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in quality control, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality control methods, and industry certifications.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in quality control software and tools.
