Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to oversee the management and maintenance of our Oracle databases. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database administration, with a focus on performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain multiple Oracle databases on ExaCs, OCI, Oracle Linux, and LINUX environments.
  • Influence the design and capacity planning of Exadata DB instances on Oracle Cloud infrastructure.
  • Work towards automating key operational activities to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Administer middleware environments, including installation, configuration, migrations, tuning, patching, and monitoring.
  • Ensure the effective daily operation of production applications and provide administrative support for new implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Develop solutions to ensure DB health checks are done in an automated and proactive fashion.
  • Interact with customers and developers for priority situations and respond in a timely manner.
  • Play a key role in designing HA/DR solutions for new Identity cloud services.
  • Participate in performance, scalability, and reliability analysis and database query tuning.
  • Troubleshoot HA/DR and database performance issues on existing cloud services.
  • Work with architects and development managers on requirements specification definition and detailed engineering analysis from a data perspective.
  • Own database/schema design documentation at component and product levels.
  • Contribute to rapid delivery planning, building, configuring, deploying, monitoring, and documenting for Oracle Cloud projects.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in Oracle database administration, with a focus on performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security.
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain multiple Oracle databases on various platforms, including ExaCs, OCI, Oracle Linux, and LINUX environments.
  • Familiarity with Exadata and its components, including storage, networking, and software.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other related tools.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL framework and principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix/Linux platforms.
