Editorial Team Member Opportunity

EssentiallySports is seeking an accomplished editorial team member to contribute to our dynamic and passionate editorial team.

We are a leading sports entertainment digital media publication, growing exponentially with each passing day. Our website garners over 100M page views a month, and we aim to continue this upward trajectory until we are the best in the business.

Our editorial team plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and legitimacy of our content. They verify statistical data and facts, proofread, and enhance the quality of content before it goes live on our website.

At EssentiallySports, we value inherent skills and talent but believe that intent, attitude, and passion matter more than anything else.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively edit and publish 20-25 articles daily, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proofread articles meticulously to ensure no errors or plagiarism remain.
  • Research and fact-check articles to guarantee veracity of facts and eliminate incorrect claims.
  • Publish articles in a timely fashion for priority news-based articles.
  • Mentor and guide allocated writers to refine their quality, output, and performance.
  • Oversee the smooth daily operations of writers in the sport division.
  • Undertake other key duties as instructed by the Editorial Team Lead.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 6-12 months of experience in proofreading and/or content editing.
  • Prior experience leading a team of writers is highly desirable.
