Solar Project Director

About the Role:

We are seeking an accomplished solar project director to lead and manage large-scale solar power projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for complete ownership of project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, budget, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 1. Project Planning & Strategy
    • Define and execute detailed project execution plans aligned with organizational objectives.
    • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Establish KPIs and project monitoring mechanisms.
  • 2. Project Execution & Monitoring
    • Oversee end-to-end execution of solar projects from initiation to commissioning.
    • Ensure strict adherence to scope, cost, and timelines.
    • Monitor daily site progress, coordinate with site engineers and contractors.
    • Implement corrective actions in case of deviations or delays.
  • 3. Engineering & Technical Oversight
    • Review and validate engineering designs, layouts, and technical specifications.
    • Ensure compliance with electrical, civil, and mechanical design standards.
    • Provide technical guidance to engineering and site teams.
    • Ensure smooth integration of solar systems with grid / battery energy storage system (BESS)
  • 4. Stakeholder & Team Management
    • Lead project teams, providing guidance, motivation, and performance management.
    • Coordinate with clients, consultants, government bodies, and internal stakeholders.
    • Manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of services and materials.
    • Act as the key point of contact for all project-related communication.
  • 5. Quality, Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and EHS standards at site.
    • Conduct quality audits and inspections at various stages of the project.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement ISO and industry best practices in project execution.
  • 6. Project Closure & Handover
    • Supervise testing, commissioning, and performance trials.
    • Ensure proper documentation, certifications, and statutory approvals.
    • Prepare detailed project closure reports and lessons-learned documentation.
