Database Administration Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administration Specialist to join our team.

  • This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to leverage their expertise in database administration, management, and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Develop and execute database backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss.
  • Configure and manage database access security and integrity, including physical data storage design and data storage administration.
  • Participate in continuous process improvement on MS SQL server platforms, both on-premises and cloud-based.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SQL Server with corporate applications and other database platforms.
  • Manage and maintain cloud-based PaaS components, Azure DBs, and AWS RDS instances.
  • Perform T-SQL programming, database migrations, and server upgrades for end-of-life SQL instances.
  • Ensure compliance with security audit and transaction data encryption requirements on MS SQL Servers.
  • Develop and maintain SSIS packages for ETL processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in RDMS and MS SQL Server administration.
  • Expertise in database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring.
  • Extensive knowledge of database design, implementation, and conversion.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and Unix shell scripting.
  • Experience with SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • MCSE/MCSA certificates preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server infrastructures.
  • Extensive knowledge of database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB).
  • Prior experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) and PaaS Database components.
