Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced data engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with expertise in designing and developing large-scale data processing pipelines using Apache Spark and related technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop large-scale data processing pipelines using Apache Spark and related technologies
  • Collaborate with upstream/downstream functional teams to identify, troubleshoot and resolve data issues
  • Translate project requirements into technical solutions meeting project quality standards
  • Work in an Agile environment and participate in scrum daily standups, sprint planning reviews and retrospectives

Requirements:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in Scala programming language
  • Strong knowledge of Data Structures and their usage
  • Expertise in Spark Core, Spark SQL and Spark Streaming
  • Experience with Hadoop, HDFS, Hive and other BigData technologies
  • Familiarity with Data warehousing and ETL concepts and techniques
  • Database concepts and SQL/NoSQL operations expertise
  • UNIX shell scripting skill for scheduling/running application jobs
  • Project development life cycle activities and maintenance/support projects experience
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment
