About the Role

Mercari, Inc. (India) is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our software products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test cases and test plans to ensure software is properly tested and approved based on business requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track defects and issues in the software and work with developers to resolve them.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure testing procedures are integrated with the software development process and are aligned with the company's overall product quality standards.
  • Monitor and report on software quality/testing metrics to ensure development teams are meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Continually improve quality control processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy.
What You Will Do

As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Mercari, you will work on enhancing current app features and introducing new ones from the customer's point of view. You will design and implement automated tests, coach software engineers on testing best practices, and develop an "All for testing" mindset in development teams.

You will also develop and improve processes for quality-assurance related activities, review plans and specifications developed by product managers, and provide feedback. Additionally, you will engage in quality assurance activities throughout the entire development process while working in a quality-focused, high-speed environment.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with 2-8 years of experience working in QA activities and automation. You should have experience in testing mobile applications, including test design, implementation, optimization, and test management. You should also have experience in creating/programming automated tests for at least one of the following platforms: Android, iOS, or Web.

Preferred qualifications include experience in using tools such as Jetpack Compose, XCUITest, Jest, and experience in backend/API testing and automation. You should also have experience working in a CI/CD environment and have a strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
