Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Molex. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and implementing quality assurance systems specific to the process in line with organization QMS and business objectives in the Stamping department.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan and implement quality assurance systems specific to the process in line with organization QMS and business objectives in the Stamping department.
  2. Monitor and review current process performance and work with the manufacturing team to address concerns and improvements in the Stamping department.
  3. Implement effective inspection processes in the Stamping department and ensure zero slippages to customers. Work with SQA to address identified RM-related concerns effectively.
  4. Ensure completion of day-to-day process and product quality requirements, including timely QM lot clearance, first piece, patrol, and final inspection as per procedures.
  5. Review inspection records for accuracy and conduct random audits of reported results to identify gaps.
  6. Plan and allocate inspectors in different shifts and regularly review their performance.
  7. Train and certify inspectors on end-application of products, measurement techniques, basic quality system requirements, and monitoring their performance.
  8. Review the ongoing performance of subordinates and develop improvement plans where required.
  9. Develop product-specific quality checklists, inspection plans in SAP, gauges, workmanship standards, and identify appropriate measuring instruments.
  10. Develop and review annual plans for product/process/layout inspection and raw material testing to ensure completion as per plan.
  11. Monitor product and process performance trends, analyze reasons for poor performance, and drive improvements.
  12. Address quality issues reported by user departments and dispose of MQRs, NC material, shelf life parts, and block stock.
  13. Ensure blocking of non-conforming products in SAP as soon as they are identified and ensure speedy disposal.
  14. Participate actively in new product development, including qualification runs, run-at-rate studies, and preparation of APQP and PPAP documents.
  15. Manage product audits by certification bodies like VDE, UL, and CSA.
  16. Handle customer complaints, update containment and corrective actions to customers within specified time limits through 8D methodology, and investigate root causes and drive preventive and detective actions to avoid recurrence.
  17. Participate actively in overall process improvement programs initiated by the Operations team.
  18. Work towards continuous improvement in detection mechanisms, reduction of inspection lead times, and drive improvement projects in the Stamping area.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mech preferable) or Diploma, with 4-5 years of experience (in case of Engineering) or 7-8 years of experience (in case of Diploma). The candidate should have awareness of QMS/EMS practices as per IATF 16949/ISO 14001, hands-on experience in measurement systems including GD&T measurement, understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings, knowledge of product functional testing (mechanical and electrical), and understanding of APQP, PPAP, MSA, 8D problem-solving, SPC, and other quality tools.

The ideal candidate should have good analytical and reasoning skills and knowledge of advanced quality tools and techniques, 6 sigma, and lean concepts.
