Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned SQL Database Administrator to fill this critical role. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in managing and supporting MS SQL Database.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor generated log and event files for potential errors resulting in incidents.
  • Maintain database availability through Disaster Recovery setup and monitoring.
  • Implement transaction replication, link servers, and hardening for day-to-day operations.
  • Purge database logs and trace files regularly.
  • Perform periodic configuration reviews to maintain consistent configurations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure high database availability.
  • Prepare regular reports on database performance.
  • Identify and address imminent failures by reconfiguring log shipping and tuning DB parameters.
  • Respond to database-related incidents and drive corrective action.
  • Collaborate with the SQL DB L2 team to handle critical issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong team management experience and handling major incidents.
  • Proficiency in database installation and troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in Always ON Cluster configuration and management.
  • Knowledge of failover cluster management and patching.
  • Understanding of replication, link server configuration, and database patching.
  • Ability to create job schedules and maintenance plans.
  • Preparation of POA and rollback plans for database migrations.
