Role Description

We are seeking a skilled Social Media Editor to develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with our editorial goals.

This role involves curating, creating, and scheduling engaging content across all social media platforms while collaborating with the editorial team to repurpose and promote news articles, opinion pieces, interviews, features, and multimedia content.

The successful candidate will monitor social media channels for trending topics, breaking news, and reader engagement. They will also respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.

Furthermore, the Social Media Editor will track and analyze key social media metrics, preparing regular reports on social media performance and providing actionable insights.

They will use data-driven approaches to optimize content and posting strategies, ensuring a consistent brand voice across all social media platforms.

In addition, they will ensure all content is in compliance with journalistic standards and ethical guidelines, staying updated on the latest social media policies and platform changes.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in social media management, preferably within the news/media or education industry.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
