Job Title:

">Financial Controller & Strategic Planner

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the financial function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, effective cash flow management, and strategic financial planning.

This role requires a qualified Chartered Accountant with proven experience in managing end-to-end accounts and finance operations within the manufacturing industry, preferably metals/steel.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management & Strategy
  • Develop financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to drive business growth.
  • Optimize costs, improve margins, and enhance profitability through process improvements and cost control initiatives.
  • Monitor financial performance against business goals and provide timely insights for informed decision-making.
  1. Accounts & Reporting
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements to facilitate smooth auditing processes.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including invoicing, reconciliations, and account payables.
  • Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (IND AS) and other regulatory requirements.
  1. Compliance & Audit
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including GST, Income Tax, and TDS, to minimize legal risks.
  • Liaise with auditors and ensure timely audits to maintain the organization's reputation.
  • Stay updated with regulatory changes impacting the manufacturing sector to ensure proactive compliance.
  1. Treasury & Working Capital Management
  • Manage cash flows, banking operations, and fund utilization to optimize liquidity and minimize borrowing costs.
  • Oversee working capital management and debtor management to ensure efficient cash conversion cycles.
  • Build relationships with banks and investors for fund raising to support business expansion.
  1. Cost Control & MIS
  • Implement cost accounting systems and monitor production-related costs to identify areas for improvement.
  • Present periodic MIS reports to senior management to inform business decisions.
  • Support business units with financial analysis and forecasting to drive business growth.
  1. Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and mentor the accounts & finance team to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Establish internal controls and processes to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Foster a culture of integrity and compliance throughout the organization.

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Experience: 8 - 15 years post CA qualification experience in Accounts & Finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in manufacturing
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, statutory compliance, cost control, and treasury management
  • Proven track record in handling audits and managing working capital
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office
