About the Role

We're seeking a versatile mechanical engineer who thrives at the intersection of engineering and execution. As part of our team, you'll be responsible for designing, sourcing, prototyping, and driving production and vendor coordination for lifestyle products sold globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Utilize CAD and FEA software to create mechanical systems and components.
  • Ideation and Prototyping: Ideate concepts and develop prototypes to test and refine designs.
  • Testing and Analysis: Plan and execute testing procedures, analyze results, and implement improvements.
  • Documentation and Manufacturing: Create detailed BOMs and manufacturing drawings with tolerances, material specs, and assembly methods.
  • Sourcing and Vendor Management: Identify and onboard reliable suppliers, especially in India and Southeast Asia.
  • Production and Delivery: Drive first article inspections (FAI), pilot builds, and production runs with vendors.
  • Troubleshooting and Quality Control: Troubleshoot quality issues, manufacturing bottlenecks, or delays with urgency and discipline.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experience in product design.
  • Knowledge: DFM & manufacturing knowledge.
  • CAD Skills: Hands-on experience in rapid prototyping & 3D printing.
  • Problem-Solving: First-principles problem-solving approach for root cause analysis and action.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail in design, analysis, & documentation.
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Application Engineering: Application engineering skills to identify & select various COTS items.
  • Prioritization: Ability to balance perfection with speed - know when to iterate and when to ship.
