Job Overview:

The Category FMCG Manager oversees a team responsible for purchasing and selling National & Regional FMCG brands across 20-30 stores in their assigned region.

  • This senior-level manager leads a team of 8-10 members, providing classroom training and on-the-job training to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in their roles.
  • They work closely with various teams, including Store Operations, Supply Chain, and Central Purchase, to maximize off-takes and ensure optimal promotions in stores.
  • The Category FMCG Manager is responsible for negotiating with key vendors, forecasting demand, and developing category plans to drive business growth.
  • Additionally, they train and groom purchase officers and assistant purchase managers.
  • Travel is expected, both within the assigned region and PAN India.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Graduate or Postgraduate degree with at least 10 years of experience in FMCG Sales.
  • Experience in General Trade is preferred, as well as prior experience managing a similar role.
  • Knowledge of local languages and locations is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively and negotiate with vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills are necessary for success in this role.
