Senior AWS Data Engineer Job Description

The position of Senior AWS Data Engineer involves designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end data pipelines on the AWS cloud infrastructure using services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon Redshift, etc. This role requires a deep understanding of data processing and transformation workflows using Apache Spark, and SQL to support analytics and reporting requirements.

In this capacity, you will be responsible for building and maintaining orchestration workflows to automate data pipeline execution, scheduling, and monitoring. You will also collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.

A successful candidate must have strong proficiency in AWS services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon Redshift, etc. and hands-on experience in designing and building data pipelines on AWS cloud infrastructure. Additionally, they must have solid understanding of data modeling, database design principles, and SQL and Spark SQL.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience building and deploying large-scale data processing pipelines in a production environment.
  • Strong expertise in data engineering and cloud computing.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark for data processing and analytics.
  • Experience with orchestrating and scheduling data pipelines using AppFlow, Event Bridge, and Lambda.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
