Job Title:

Principal Engineer (Solids Mechanics)

Join us in driving innovation and efficiency in upstream oil and gas operations and carbon capture and storage.

**About the Role:**
We are seeking a skilled Principal Engineer to lead technical, analytical, and project management responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for building computational models and simulations using proprietary and vendor tools to enhance design and operational practices and address evolving business needs.

**Key Responsibilities:**
  1. Design, build and execute parametric studies using simulation models to provide engineering design recommendations for business decisions.
  2. Conduct research and development on new technologies, methods, or best practices.
  3. Work with wells engineers, drilling and completion experts, computational and data scientists, and laboratory scientists across the globe to enhance understanding of subsurface technologies and tools.
  4. Create tutorials, documentation, training material or case studies.
  5. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Mentor other engineers to help build their technical competencies in solids/fracture mechanics and modeling.


**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines with a minimum GPA 7.0.
  • Up to 3 years of research/industrial experience in applying solids mechanics principles in solving business problems in the energy industry.
  • Strong Solid Mechanics and Finite Element Method fundamentals and experience of working with a Finite Element tool (ABAQUS preferred).
