About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Backend Wordpress Developer to join our development team. This is a challenging opportunity for someone with 2-4 years of experience in building custom Wordpress themes and plugins from scratch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain custom Wordpress themes and plugins based on project requirements.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code using PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing Wordpress websites and plugins.
  • Optimize website performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, front-end developers, and project managers to deliver high-quality products.
  • Stay current with the latest Wordpress core updates, plugin architecture, and development best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and participate in regular code reviews.
  • Work with version control systems like Git and follow Agile methodologies for project management.
  • Maintain and support WooCommerce-based e-commerce websites, ensuring secure and scalable performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience working as a Wordpress developer (backend-focused).
  • Proven experience in custom theme and plugin development from scratch.
  • Strong command over PHP, AJAX, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Deep understanding of Wordpress core, theme hierarchy, hooks (actions & filters), and custom post types.
  • Experience with WooCommerce integration and customization.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and working in a collaborative development environment.
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with REST API integration in Wordpress.
  • Knowledge of page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, etc.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices in Wordpress.
