OpenShift Administrator Job Description

This position involves acting as the key expert in managing OpenShift, handling complex issues, and ensuring operational excellence across the platform.

The role includes:

  • Leading the resolution of critical or complex OpenShift and Kubernetes issues.
  • Conducting deep analysis to identify root causes and implementing preventive measures.
  • Oversight and optimization of cluster capacity, performance, and scalability.
  • Planning and executing platform upgrades, migrations, and architecture changes.
  • Developing automation scripts and tools for efficient platform management (Ansible, Helm, Operators).
  • Defining and implementing security hardening, compliance, and governance frameworks.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and reviewing their escalations to build operational knowledge bases.
  • Collaboration with architecture and DevOps teams on enhancements and new capabilities.
  • Improving monitoring, alerting, and operational processes for the platform.
  • Owning process improvements and standardization across environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 7+ years of experience in Linux administration.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in OpenShift (v4 preferred).
  • In-depth understanding of Kubernetes internals, API objects, Operators.
